Accounts Payable Lead / Supervisor

About the Opportunity
A well-established Pacific Northwest organization is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join its accounting team. This role is ideal for someone who has advanced AP experience and prior leadership exposure, while still enjoying being hands-on and actively involved in day-to-day accounts payable operations.
The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, possesses strong analytical skills, and can effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-cycle accounts payable processing from invoice receipt through payment.
- Review, code, match, and process high volumes of vendor invoices.
- Research and resolve invoice discrepancies, payment issues, and vendor inquiries.
- Reconcile vendor statements and AP records.
- Support month-end close activities and account reconciliations.
- Partner with procurement, operations, and accounting teams to ensure efficient workflows.
- Maintain compliance with company policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
- Provide guidance, training, and support to AP team members as needed.
- Assist with prioritizing workload and ensuring timely completion of AP functions.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of full-cycle Accounts Payable experience.
- Prior AP Lead, Supervisor, or Manager experience preferred.
- Willingness to remain hands-on in daily AP processing activities.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience working in high-volume invoice processing environments.
- Experience with procurement systems required.
- Experience with Remarkable or similar procurement platforms highly preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel and ERP system proficiency.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time-management skills.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting construction, engineering, industrial, manufacturing, or project-based businesses.
- Demonstrated ability to balance transactional responsibilities with informal or formal team leadership.
- Process-improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and customer service.
